I have been card making for the past eight years and almost a
year ago I set up a blog to keep a record of them and then
gradually started entering challenges. This has been a real source
of inspiration and has taken me in crafting directions I may not
have explored. Crafting has not only been a creative outlet but
it's given me the opportunity to meet like minded friends. We get
together regularly, and as well as crafting, there's usually lots
of chatter and cake and an occasional sing song at our gatherings too.
If you were to ask them what my crafting style is they
would probably say that it is to leave no space untouched.
They now refer to this as “doing a Liz” when they make a card in
this style themselves.
I've tried various techniques during these past eight years and
am amazed at the amount of new products that are still becoming
available. At the moment I'm gathering confidence with using
Promarkers and the Grand Calibur. When starting a challenge
or project I love to source out all the craft items and
embellishments I have to meet it and then see how I can use them.
This probably explains why there ends up being so much
on each card!
I don't like having my photograph taken but this was one my
daughter took for a portrait challenge at the local camera club.
It was a great honour to be chosen as the Guest Designer
for this challenge and I wish all the entrants good luck.

Here's a couple of pictures showcasing Liz's gorgeous card for our
Your card is simply gorgeous Liz, you've certainly used lots of punches and dies
and we love the cheerful monochromatic yellow. What a really fun idea to spell out "Chloe" inside those pretty punched flowers too!
We see what you mean when you say that you like to leave "no space untouched". There is so much lovely detail to admire, the lovely scalloped edges, the pretty little ribbon bows and the tiny gold brads, they all make your card very special and unique.
There has never been a time when I don't remember doing some form of crafting. When I was young I was never artistic but I loved colouring and would colour for hours on end. I then used to design and make my own clothes for paper dolls which kept me busy and out of mischief. Following that, I progressed to making Barbie/Sindy clothes for my sister's dolls, she certainly had very extensive wardrobes for her dolls!!
I became interested in card making and stamping about 15 years ago but didn't do much until about 4 years ago. I retired almost 10 months ago following a career in nursing and now have the time I need to spend on my passion for card making. I have only had my own blog since the end of last summer, only discovering them a few months before. I love nothing more than sitting at my computer and spending some time visiting other people's blogs all over the world seeing what beautiful things people make and I must say have lovely and helpful the blogging community is!
Wow look at Susan's adorable card for our
sketch challenge!
The four, bright and cheerful dp's that Susan has chosen to work with certainly compliment her beautifully colored image - what a fun card!
The colorful brads and those adorable screws and wrench make the perfect embellishments and finishing touches.
What a great card for that very special "Mr Fix It"!

a Norwegian cat loving and scrap loving girl :-)
I
started scrapping in 2006 and as time progressed I fell in love
with creating
other small objects too. I've been
making cards
since 2008 and started stamping in 2010 and now I can’t seem
to
stop! My favourite stamps at the moment are
KennyK, Sweet Pea and Simply Betty.
My favourite style is Steampunk and you often find small bits and pieces of
metal and chains hanging from my cards. I also use a lot of bright and clear colours on my creations and I
can't make a card without having some flowers on it!
I’m a 50+ year old woman and have been married to my hubby for 30 years
and have two grown sons. I work at an elementary school by day and I’m a
passionate paper crafter during my time off. I’ve been crafting
most my life,
sewing Barbie clothes, decorative painting, drawing, and cross
stitch in my
younger years.
I really became involved with rubber stamping/scrap booking/paper crafts when I became a consultant for D.O.T.S., which is now known as Close to My Heart. At the same time I was also teaching craft
classes at Michael's, our local community centre and also our Women's church
retreats too. Being a consultant was a perfect part time job when my sons
were little and I loved creating my cards, planning my demonstrations, teaching others techniques and providing tips. It was so satisfying seeing other women get just as excited as I did about paper, ink and rubber stamps. Since giving up the consultancy I’ve started
my own blog and I’m always excited about the amount of talent, sharing and
inspiration that takes place daily among bloggers who share this passion
for paper crafting.
Being in my creative space is a great stress reliever in the evening & weekends.
I'm
a 40 year old mum of 2, step mum of 2 and grandma to 1 with number 2
due in
October. I have a fair bit of crafting
time just now as I left my job in
December when we were supposed to be moving
to Scotland. As well as
making cards I sew, cross stitch and knit although I
still can't manage crochet and my family would say my cooking is fairly scary
lol! The cat and I like nothing better than sneaking off to the hobbit hole, as
my craft room is known, for some peace and quiet although I do spend quite a
bit of time with my nose in a book as well or catching up online.
I'm really
looking forward to working with such a great team of talented crafters.
Hi,
my name is Danielle Mack and I live and work in Dallas, Texas.
I have been scrapbooking now for the past few
years and I love it! I also enjoy making cards and altered projects too.
I
went to college for fine art so I love photography, painting and sculpture and
when I’m not busy with all of that I’ve also got a dog named Coco and we love
to go walking together.
